Founded in 1958 by Alvin Ailey in New York, one of America's most celebrated dance companies, rooted in African American cultural experience. Home at the Joan Weill Center for Dance. The iconic work Revelations has been performed more than any other ballet or modern dance piece. Robert Battle became Artistic Director in 2011, continuing Ailey's humanist vision.
