Founded in 1948 by George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein, New York City Ballet revolutionized ballet through Balanchine's neoclassical aesthetic. The company is fed by the prestigious School of American Ballet and performs at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. NYCB maintains one of the world's largest repertoires of Balanchine works and continues the legacy of Jerome Robbins.
