Sol León
Biography
Sol León (born 1966 in Madrid) is a Spanish dancer and choreographer who trained at the Victor Ullate Ballet school in Madrid before joining Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), where she became a principal dancer and eventually, together with Paul Lightfoot, one of the company's defining creative voices. As co-House Choreographer of NDT from 2002 to 2020 alongside Lightfoot, she helped shape the company's international reputation and created an extraordinary body of work characterised by emotional intimacy, physical precision, and a poetry of restraint. Her collaborative works with Lightfoot — including Shoot the Moon, Skew-Whiff, and So Are We — have been performed by companies around the world. So Are We premiered as a Royal Ballet programme in 2026.
