About This Work

Sol León and Paul Lightfoot are among contemporary dance's most distinctive creative voices, having served as house choreographers at Nederlands Dans Theater from 2002 to 2020. So Are We brings together two of their most celebrated works — Shoot the Moon and Salle de Dance — in an evening that showcases their uniquely fluid, emotionally charged choreographic language. Shoot the Moon, created in 2006 to Philip Glass's Tirol Concerto, explores the trembling intimacy and distance within relationships; Salle de Dance reimagines the daily ritual of ballet class as something deeply human and poetic. Together, the works offer a captivating portrait of two choreographers at the height of their powers.
