Biography

Jakob Wheway Hughes trained at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and is a Cecchetti-trained dancer. His early achievements include winning three awards at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne—Audience Favourite, Best Contemporary, and a Scholarship—while still at Tring Park. In 2022, he was awarded the RAD's Bedell's Bursary, and in 2023 he won the gold medal at the Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition at age 16. Hughes joined English National Ballet in 2025 as a Prix de Lausanne Dancer, beginning his professional career with the company.
