Biography
Chisato Katsura is a Japanese Soloist of The Royal Ballet, promoted in 2024. She began dancing at age four and trained at The Royal Ballet School, graduating in 2014 as the most outstanding female student — recognised by the Dame Ninette de Valois Prize. She also won Young British Dancer of the Year and the Lynn Seymour Award in 2013.
Katsura is admired for her delicate artistry and musical intelligence. She joined the Royal Ballet in 2015 and has steadily built a repertoire in the company's classical works including La Bayadère, alongside the contemporary output that defines the Royal Ballet's modern identity.
