Biography

Yu Hang is a Chinese Coryphée of The Royal Ballet, promoted to First Artist in 2023. She trained at the Shanghai Theatre Academy Dance School from the age of ten before winning the Prix de Lausanne in 2016 — the first Chinese dancer to win the prize in 29 years. She also won the Youth America Grand Prix Gold Medal (Senior Division) the same year before joining The Royal Ballet School on scholarship.

Hang brings refined classical technique and elegant stage presence to her roles in the corps and soloists, including the Fairy Summer in Cinderella, Spanish Princess in Swan Lake, and Mirliton in The Nutcracker.
