    Biography

Amelia Townsend is a British-Australian Soloist of The Royal Ballet, promoted in 2024. She trained in Brisbane at the Annette Roselli Dance Academy and at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne before being offered a place at The Royal Ballet School in 2015 without audition — a rare distinction. She joined the company in 2019.

Townsend is a versatile and musical dancer who has built a wide repertoire across the company's classical and contemporary output, including the tap-dancing Mad Hatter in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, and Manon.
