Biography
Emma Hawes is an American lead principal from Delaware, Ohio, trained at BalletMet Dance Academy and Canada's National Ballet School. After dancing with The National Ballet of Canada and as a guest artist with the Royal Danish Ballet and Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre, she joined English National Ballet in 2018. Rapidly promoted to Principal (2022) and Lead Principal (2023), Hawes commands a leading-lady repertoire: Manon, Odette/Odile, Aurora, and Giselle. A 2012 Erik Bruhn Prize Audience Choice Award winner.
