Biography

Katja Khaniukova was born in Kyiv, Ukraine and trained at the prestigious Kyiv State Choreographic Institute. Before joining English National Ballet in 2014, she was a Principal Dancer with the ballet company of the National Opera of Ukraine in Kyiv, where she performed leading roles in major classical works including Romeo & Juliet, Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake. With ENB, she has risen through the company ranks, achieving promotions to Soloist in 2017 and First Soloist in 2019. In 2026, Khaniukova was honored with the State Award of Ukraine—the Order of Princess Olha, Third Class, recognizing both her artistic excellence and her extraordinary dedication to promoting UK-Ukraine cultural ties.
