Biography

Sangeun Lee is a South Korean Principal dancer born in Seoul who trained at Sunhwa Arts School and Sunhwa Arts High School. She began her professional career with Universal Ballet in South Korea from 2005 to 2010, then joined Semperoper Ballett Dresden, where she achieved Principal rank in 2016 and danced for thirteen years. In 2023, she joined English National Ballet as a leading Principal, bringing extensive experience in classical masterworks and contemporary works by major choreographers including Forsythe, Kyilian, and Naharin. Her prestigious awards include the Seoul International Ballet Competition Grand Prix (2005), Shanghai International Ballet Competition 2nd Prize (2007), and Varna International Ballet Competition 3rd Prize (2008).
