    Biography

    Ken Saruhashi was born in Hokkaido, Japan and began ballet training at age six at Harumi Shimoda Ballet School. At seventeen, he relocated to England to pursue advanced training, where he studied the Royal Ballet method at English National Ballet School after initially training in the Vaganova technique. He joined English National Ballet in 2011 and has advanced through the company, achieving promotions to First Artist in 2014, Junior Soloist in 2016, Soloist in 2017, and First Soloist in 2019. Saruhashi's substantial repertoire includes principal classical roles such as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake and Albrecht in Giselle, as well as leading parts in romantic and contemporary works, including roles in Nureyev's Romeo & Juliet and Le Corsaire.
