Biography

Sarah Lamb is an American Principal of The Royal Ballet, joining the company in 2004 and promoted to Principal in 2006. Born in Boston, she trained at Boston Ballet School under the Russian pedagogue Tatiana Nicolaevna Legat, granddaughter of legendary teacher Nicolai Legat. She rose to Principal at Boston Ballet before crossing the Atlantic to join the Royal Ballet.

Lamb is celebrated for her pristine technique and versatility across the classical and contemporary repertoire. Her roles include Odette/Odile, Giselle, Aurora, Nikiya, Juliet, and Manon. A frequent collaborator of Wayne McGregor, she created the title role in Raven Girl and has originated roles in Chroma, Woolf Works, The Dante Project, and over a dozen other premieres. She is also known for her refined interpretations of Ashton and Balanchine.
