Biography

James Hay is a British First Soloist of The Royal Ballet, joining the company in 2007 after winning the Prix de Lausanne and the Young British Dancer of the Year title. He trained at the Linda Butler School of Dance in Berkshire before attending The Royal Ballet School.

Hay has built a versatile career across the classical and contemporary repertoire, creating roles in works by Liam Scarlett — including Aeternum and the title role in Hansel and Gretel — and performing in Crystal Pite's Flight Pattern. He is admired for his expressive range and musicality.
