Biography
Lukas B. Brændsrød is a Norwegian First Soloist of The Royal Ballet, the first Norwegian male dancer to reach that rank at an international company. He trained at the Norwegian National Ballet School before becoming the first Norwegian boy to attend The Royal Ballet Upper School, graduating in 2015 as the most outstanding male student — an honour recognised by the Ninette de Valois Prize.
Brændsrød began his professional life as a breakdancer before committing to classical ballet in his teens, a background that informs his dynamic physicality and spatial intelligence. He has built a wide classical and contemporary repertoire since joining the Royal Ballet in 2015 and was promoted to First Soloist in 2024.
